Humulus lupulus, or hops, is a herbaceous perennial climbing plant of the Cannabaceae family, native to Europe, western Asia, and North America. It produces distinctive green cone-like strobiles (female flowers) containing golden lupulin glands that yield a sticky, aromatic, bitter powder. Documented in European records since 1079 CE by Abbess Hildegarde, hops have been used in brewing and herbal practices for centuries.
Hops promotes healthy relaxation and sleep.
- Cut & Sifted: Dried strobiles are steeped as herbal tea, tinctured, or added to infusions and cosmetic formulations, offering a gentle nervine effect with traditional preparation.
