Tussilago farfara, commonly known as coltsfoot, is an herbaceous perennial in the Asteraceae family, native to Europe and parts of Asia. It grows in colonies, spreading through a rhizomatous root system, and features yellow flowers and horseshoe-shaped leaves. Introduced to the American colonies from Europe, coltsfoot has a history of use in traditional European herbalism. The herb is commonly infused for topical applications only! Available as dried herb, coltsfoot retains its quality when stored properly.
